I was working on something entirely different to share with you today. Then, I found an old audio recording on my phone:
It was my daughter singing an impromptu song about SPACE BEAR. The full thing is several minutes long and across multiple audio files.
I continued trying to work on other things, but just couldn’t. This clip is too good. I found myself in ZOOM meetings quietly doodling SPACE BEAR. For my own sanity, I just had to do something with this.
So, here you go.
A bit of backstory: SPACE BEAR started life as short stories I’d quickly tell my kids before bed. They were usually ridiculous adventures about a — yep, you guessed it — bear in space.
He even became the subject of a few brief comics for a time:
This, though, might be Space Bear’s finest moment. Maybe I can create more adventures for him with a little more time. For now, here’s episode one!
Look, this is my favorite thing right now. I just had to share it with you.
In case you didn’t watch the video (and if you didn’t… come on!) … I’m not trying to spoil anything, but we discover that even brave Space Bear has a weakness: being pointed at! Ugh! I can relate.
Not sure what your weakness might be. Being pointed at? Self-doubt? Shame? Being mobbed by several animals in space?
Wherever you are today, know this:
Your courage, creativity, and compassion are needed. Stay brave, dear friends — even in the face of those who dare to point at you.
I’m with you. I’m for you. I’m TEAM SPACE BEAR FOREVER.

YES! I make things with my hubby’s photos, make them 3D adding elements of nature. At times I hear negative thoughts (in my head). I stop, read something or listen to music to snap out of that space…. And now I will be using the “Space Bear” song! It makes me smile! Thank you! Here’s to being creative! Again, thank you for all you do….and your daughter! Space Bear, Space Bear, Space Bear!!!!
Love it, especially when the octopus points all their tentacles- so good! 🐙
