Brad! I loved your talk so much. My part of that standing ovation was definitely for you. Your talk is the highlight for me every year (and yes, this is not an ending but a sending is a banger of a line). I even got the chance to apply the final talking point a few days later when my husband jokingly (jokingly?) suggested we sell our aging collie. Without any context, I informed him, “Actually, one of the main points I learned at STORY was don’t sell your dog.”
Paige. First, I'm so happy to hear that this was helpful in making certain your dog is not sold in front of a 7-11 (or elsewhere). Phew. Second, thank you. Those kind words mean such a great deal coming from you. It really is a special community and a joy to see everyone shine and share and stir up goodness in so many ways. Cheering for you always.
Thank you for this <3 Was just telling a friend yesterday about a global creative projects I'm building, and I feel simultaneously so excited about it and like I might be a total idiot and should probably just stop. This is a great reminder that it still matters to do absurd things with love and kindness. Trying to embrace the uncertainty!
Thank you for all that you do Brad 🥰 you're such a light in the dark, "sidewalk worms" and "space bear" are repeated daily in our household 😄 you've brought so many people so much joy.
Brad. Thank you for taking risks and sharing your convictions with the world. It was an unexpected surprise to get to shake your hand and thank you in person for inspiring me to attend STORY for the first time this year. I had never heard about the conference until you wrote about it several months ago. I left with my creative cup very full and the courage to take more risk. Since returning home, I took the step and started the LLC I've been dreaming about for years. Here we go!
Thanks for everything, Brad. Through your writing I have decided to apply for a job as an aid at a school. I used some of your material during my interviews and practiced some of your methods for my two hour working interview. I was brilliant! (YOU are brilliant!) I can see myself doing really well in this poverty paying job. I feel rich already!
I love everything about this, Brad. My heart breaks that I couldn’t be at Story but I’ll get there eventually. Thank you so much for taking risks that yield blessings for all of us.
You keep raising the bar Brad! We've heard it said, in times of fear and animosity, we most need the clowns, the mystics, the storytellers to cast vision for that future you're throwing that stick toward!
How could I miss it? I'm up late clearing my inbox and email #357 was from you. I never leave these unread?! I'm so glad I paused tonight to read and get inspired, just like I do with every story you tell. Thanks for sharing about creative risks and how they are worth it. It took a lot of guts to get up in a dog suit and a lot of creativity to be able to explain that in a way that makes all the sense in the world! *standing ovation of one*
It was such a joy to be with you in that room for this "commencement" speech as the Class of Story 2025. To count myself among those you call creatives and thought leaders is a title I'm boldly stepping into. Carry On, fellow Keeper of the Flame.

Thanks for showing up boldly.

Thank you, Brad. This whole post is a salve and an encouragement. Onward.
Brad, thank you for being such an encouragement!
Helps when I have folks like you in my world. Thanks for who you are, friend.
This is the best, most heartening post. Your work is brilliant and filled with compassion and well--goodness. Thank you!

I got the job!!
Enthusiasm and taking risks to immerse yourself in it are what makes life worth living.

It would've been so good to see you, but totally get it! Grateful for your kind words and continual compassionate, creative spirit. Cheers!

Thank you for being you, Brad! You have long been a source of smiles in a frowny world.
