So grateful for your kind words and presence here. Often overwhelm and discouragement hit me but then I remember there’s so so so many good folks out there hopepunkin along. Keep going , friend
This is me and everything I write about:) I am new here but I do hope people find my work inspiring and uplifting. We need this right now, to remember we are inherently loving.
I'm on it. (Heidi's mom, peaches here, and Jackson and Brooklyn's grandma, I'm surrounded by hope punks). thanks for always being you, and encouraging all of us!
Thank you, Brad! This is a homer for sure. I've shared with so many already because it's just a really good, honest and warm piece of writing and insight – two things that don't always seem to come hand-in-hand these days. I'm always looking for the bright spots and this Substack is one of them!
Assignment accepted. As I read your words, I am expecting the arrival our first grandchild at any moment now. I have a renewed sense of being the antidote this world needs because of her. My grandbaby will be raised as a hopepunk. Together she and I will share stories of what we and the world need. Thank you, Brad!
"The future is an infinite succession of presents" stopped me cold. I literally had to stop everything. I've spent the last week or so wrapped up in a future that doesn't exist yet. Chest wracked with anxiety, barely in my body, definitely not fully present in my own life. And sometime in the last week I told my daughter (when she was spiraling about something three months away) to come back to right now. That her fear lives in the future, not here. I said it like I live it. I don't live it. I just know the words. The present moment costs something to actually live in. That's the part few people in real life are willing to say out loud. It's not just practice or mindfulness or whatever. It's a choice to stop hiding, and some days I'm still not making it. I'm future-tripping instead of hopepunking.
I’m so happy I found this; I am a Hopepunk. I run a litter cleanup on a 12 mile stretch of rural highway that leads to my little community. It’s hard, endless but also the best kind of rewarding. I’ll spread the Hopepunk love.
I believe in hope. And I loved this post. I write hopepunk poetry and hopepunk fiction. I’m 64 and after years of being sick, I believe even more strongly in hopepunk! It got me through the darkness and into the joy. Hopepunk rules!
I understand the assignment.
RECIEVED! HOPEPUNK agent ACTIVATED! SUCCESS!
I cannot even explain how much I loved this piece, Brad. Loved and restacked.

Absolutely! So glad there’s a you.
I'm a punk rocker, yes, I am.
Ha! YES! Made me so happy when they used that song in Superman and made the idea of his goodness being a rebellious thing. Stay punk, Jeff
Brad, Thank you!
So happy to be back in the same time zone, my friend! Grateful for you

Dark surroundings only make a light shine brighter.

Thank you, Brad. I love this post. This philosophy is my MO. It is good to find community with others who feel the same.
