Drying tears of remembrance. Thank you for explaining Sunny's behavior years ago! Our beloved Golden Retriever was an amazing comfort, inquisitive, loving member of our family! I'm missing her right now and it's been many years since she died from cancer. Oh the beautiful memories this wonderful piece brought back! And yes, the narration was terrific! Thank you!
It was such a delight to read this comment to my kids at breakfast this morning. Yours was the first comment to come through and meant so much. Miles (my son) laughed in gratitude at the narration compliment. Haha. Thank you.
Having said goodbye to my best friend on four legs a few weeks ago, this. Just all of this. Frankie was 16 and wise beyond his years and grey muzzle. He always knew when I just needed him to be... close. You have put into words so beautifully all the feels. And the narration was adorable. Thanks for being awesome.
So sorry to hear about your loss. I'm grateful this could be of any help in healing and remembering. Your comment has encouraged me so much today. Thank *you* for being awesome. :)
At my school we have a school facility dog, and he spends much of the day in my 3rd grade classroom. Last night at a school board education meeting three of my students spoke about how much Sandee out school facility dog means to them. They said they his heart warms out heart. One student said when she feels anxious, Sandee calms her. Sandee gives his love and comfort to our students and school. Having Sandee that past year and a half in our school has transformed the school by teaching love, kindness and patience. Dogs are amazing. I had a feeling Sandee could talk, but by not talking he has made us work a little more to learn about ourselves! I can't wait for your new book! Thanks for the inspiration you keep sharing!!
Oh what a beautiful comment and what a gift of a dog. Thank you for sharing this. So so so grateful you're here and honored by the support. May we all be more like dogs. :)
Great way to start my day! Light hearted yet deeply touching and meaningful. Beats meditation or whatever routine we practice to ease our stressed and serious minds ; )
Now that's a perfect way to experience this -- doggo at your side. Thanks for sharing this. Just knowing I got to be part of a little moment like that today, means the world.
Thanks. I've been a volunteer animal shelter photographer for going on 15 years now, so at this point, I feel like I can speak dog. I don't normally listen to podcasts and such since I usually do better reading than listening, but in this case, I really wanted to hear the dog speak. :-) And your son did a great job narrating! Thanks for all the good you put out into the world. It does all of us good!
and if you're looking for lots of sweet furry faces, I post my shelter pics, normally with the dog telling his or her story, on IG @shelterpetsuperstars.
Juliette, thank you. One of the things that compelled me to write this was that beautiful feeling of being seen and understood you can sometimes get from animals, or friends, or even ... sometimes... wonderful Canadians on the internet. You've made my day in ways only dogs could smell. Thank you for noticing, seeing, and sharing. It means so much.
What a lovely piece! I'd like to think my puppo Aurora is also sensing all of these things too. Funny thing, I find she makes these unique woofing sounds that genuinely sounds like she's talking to us and we just unfortunately don't understand - we nicknamed it Doglish in our house and what I wouldn't give for just one or two translations. :) Have a great day Brad + fam!!
Well, I wasn’t planning on crying this morning, but this did it. Haha. This was beautiful, and it was definitely encouraging. The part about Facebook memories popping up and how fast life is going by…just 2 days ago one with our two dogs (litter mate girls) as puppies popped up, from 6 years ago. Ones of my kids pop up every month, and it’s just crazy how much changes so quickly. Thank you. ❤️
Oh and I just listened to the narration version as well, cried all over again, but wanted to say that it was wonderful, and everyone who partook did a wonderful job. ☺️
You are so kind, Brittany. Thank you! I am with you on the Facebook memories thing. It can devastate me some days! The feeling of life going by so fast -- too fast--- just rattles me sometimes. Only antidote I've found is to be as present as I can in each and every moment within each and every day. Still.... I'm a sappy old dad who gets sideswiped by old photos and memories and missing different phases. Easy to time travel like that!! Aaah. You're not alone. With you. Here's to being present. Like a kid. Like a dog. Like those first-class noticers among us.
Ah! Cary! This means the world coming from you. They'll be overjoyed to hear the kind words. Thanks for taking time to check this out. I had this wild urge to write and make this and then... yesterday it hit me... oh no... dog press conference? Really, Brad?!? Have you lost your mind?! Why? This is too weird! Ah. Release it anyway. Encouraged to know it wasn't too weird and meant something to folks. Thanks for being here.
They got to listen to it last night and my son thought it sounded like a really cool audiobook with full cast narration! I took that as a huge compliment coming from my bookloving boy. Thanks for the kind words and for being here.
Such a lovely perspective with a beautifully elegant message. So grateful to you for sharing, Brad and family! I've pre-ordered your next book and am so looking forward to reading it. Yipee! And the voice actors and narration? *chef's kiss* :)
Salute to our four-legged friends for being our best friend and a great companion!
Love what you have written Brian.
We work with children in adversity, giving them access to magical storybooks to help them connect with the world. Our storybooks print on a single sheet of paper. We would love to collaborate with you and publish this story as one of our tiny little books.

Honored! Hoped it would express something of use to whoever found it. Happy it found you! Cheers friend.
As a dog lover, I listened to this while petting my dog. And then the tears came. Such a beautiful story. Thank you!

Brad,
I have been teaching for the past 27 years, and I’ve been a HUGE fan of yours since you started with Kid President.
I LOVE the way that you continue to bring light and love, goodness, into our world.
Today you moved me especially strongly with this email, and it’s amazing audio link (that reminded me of Charlie Brown and his friends).
You mixed in my most favourite things: dogs, love, and something made with kids ❤️
You are appreciated more than you could know.

DOGLISH! haha. I *love* it. May we all learn to speak it more! Thanks for this. So so so happy you're here. Send our hellos to Aurora.

This made my day Brad ❤️ My elderly rescue dog Tess would agree! You can follow her adventures on IG @tessofthedoggoville 🐶
Nicola!! Thank you! I'm always up for a good InstaDog account to follow.
This did my heart good this morning. Please thank your kids for their part. They did a beautiful job! 🙌

This is adorable Brad!
Thank you
Oh thank you!!! So happy you're here!
Omigosh the narration was such a wonderful surprise. And the whole piece is great in so many ways and on so many levels. ❤️

You did a good job narrating :)
You're so kind. I'll share with them. Thank you!

Loved it, every moment,
But the narrator really rocked.
