Just yesterday I was looking to connect with fellow children's book lovers. 🤩
Moonbow is magnificent. I don't know how Taylor does it! Also, Sarah Miller's "Can we read?" (canweread.substack.com) is full of helpful resources and recommendations. I've discovered some great new-to-me titles there! Lastly, I can't help but mention—while my mom isn't formally published (yet!), she has two children's book manuscripts and I think her illustrations will warm your heart. And I'm not just saying that. (studioyuming.com)
Erika! So wonderful! Love seeing your recent post about your collection! Yes! Excited to check out these links. Especially grateful you’d share your mom. How cool!
Oh my goodness, Brad! I am someone who sometimes needs permission, and I've been learning to give myself that. Trying to practice it for many years now. And the idea of a physical permission slip is GENIUS.
Thank you so much for mentioning my newsletter! I admire what you do so much so it made my day :) I feel the same way about your newsletter!
Ok this made me tear up a little! Definitely resonate with you going to pieces at the question from your mailman. Too funny, too true! Thanks for permission and being relatable
My husband has always told me, "Ask forgiveness, not permission" and I've always found it funny. But recently I found a quote from Grace Hopper, that says, "If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It's much easier to apologize than it is to get permission." And it's been living rent free in my head.
OF COURSE! It makes me so happy to see someone championing such great things. With each new post from you it’s usually always something I am also obsessed with or desperately needed in my life. I *think* it was my deep love of James Marshall and frequent searches of anything James Marshall related that led me to you. Not 100% what the gateway drug was, but I’m grateful for what you’re doing.

Oops! I realized I used an old link for my mom's site. It's yumikokitazono.com — sorry about that!
Thanks so much, Brad.
Wow, Moonbow sounds amazing! I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing the recommendation!

Hahaha! Wisdom right here. I hope you have lots of great reasons to apologize in the future 😆

DEE!!!! Thanks friend.
Brad, thank you as always! I hope you are as much an inspiration to others as you are to me!
Love you guys!
MARC! Thanks as always, friend. Traveling today and this note from a friend from back home meant more than I can say!
Thank you Brad for another wonderful post. It reminds me of a Ethan Hawke interview: https://youtu.be/WRS9Gek4V5Q?si=MRteb34Csv8wlVYk
I absolutely love this idea 💡
Adore this. And you. Thanks for the permission slip
Also Tor Freeman from The Repository.
So good! I want to give this post ten hearts! Thank you. Xo
I’d recommend Grant Snider’s Incidental Comics. It’s a combination of a comic strip and poetry.
Wonderful recommendation!!! Yes! I love Grant! Truly a dazzling talent.
