I’ve taken to calling myself stubbornly optimistic. I love that phrase! And I love that you work with educators, so your brightness can more readily make its way into kids’ school lives.
Feeling very much like I needed this today, thank you. Educators are often the biggest hearts, but not so great at taking care of ourselves. This leaves us vulnerable to grumpiness, cynicism, and snarky rashness. Reminding myself daily to ignore the dumpster fire and tend the garden. Lead by example, share some love...charge on Joy Rebels!🌈
Thanks so much, Heather! So happy the book found you. Years ago, my wife and I started referring to our work as a 'joyful rebellion'. We'd seen some people create things out of anger or just settling into being cynical about how things were. I began taking notice when I saw people building things out of joy or rallying people together around meaningful things in a joyful way. That's what we were after! People who see how things in the world are, but still have a joyful, bright, hopeful vision of what could be are an inspiration to me. It's people joyfully rebelling against what is to help bring to life what should be.
Well if "a procrastination" isn't the actual official term for a group of writers, it SHOULD be! There's some good reasons for that, might get around to explaining later. 😁
I think a group of owls is called a parliament...
Delightful work, as usual! Thank you for doing what you do.
Thank you so much for always being an eye opener and a great example for those fortunate enough to know you!
You're the real deal, Marc Joblin. Super grateful for YOU.

YOU help me and so many others remain stubborn optimists just by being you! TRULY!
You inspired me to add “stubborn optimist” to my bio! Hehhhh!

It really means so much to me that you'd share this, Amber. Inspired and encouraged deeply by your kind words. Charge on, indeed!
I am loving your book about grownups. I am curious to learn more about “joy rebels”. Loved this newsletter. Thank you.

Thank you so much for not using cultural appropriative nouns!
